  • How often should I have an eye exam?
It is recommended to have a comprehensive routine eye exam at least once every one to two year(s). However, individuals with certain eye conditions or health issues may require more frequent exams as advised by our optometrists.
  • Do you do eye exams for kids and seniors?
Our optometrists welcome patients of all ages! We make modifications to the exam based on the age group to ensure all our patients have a good experience and thorough examination.
  • What can I expect during an eye exam?
An eye exam typically includes a series of tests to evaluate your vision, eye health, and detect any potential eye conditions or diseases. These tests may include visual acuity testing, refraction assessment, eye pressure measurement, and examination of the retina and other eye structures. Some patients may be recommended to have their pupils dilated by our optometrists to better examine the health of the eye. Click here to learn more →
  • How long does an eye exam take?
A routine eye exam typically takes 20-30 minutes but may be longer if a dilation exam is also recommended by our optometrists.
  • Will my eyes be dilated?
Although not every patient is dilated, our optometrists may recommend dilation during your eye exam. The dilation test involves placing drops into the eye to increase pupil size so our doctors may better examine the health of your eyes. The side effects, blurry vision and increased light sensitivity, are expected to last on average of 2-3 hours. A pair of sunglasses may help increase comfort during this time.
  • Do I need to schedule an appointment for an eye exam?
Walkins are always welcome on availability bases. We highly recommend scheduling an appointment for an eye exam to ensure availability and minimize waiting time. You can easily book an appointment by calling our clinic at 905-257-1660.
  • Are eye exams covered under OHIP (Ontario Health Card)?
Children aged 19 and under are covered once a year under OHIP for a full eye exam. Seniors aged 65 and over are covered either once every 18 months typically or 12 months if you have an eligible medical condition such as diabetes or glaucoma. Patients aged 20 to 64 are covered once per year if you have an eligible medical condition. Some OHIP coverage for partial eye exams/follow ups are also available for those who are covered. Please contact us for further details.
  • Do you accept private insurances?
Yes, we are able to direct bill to most major insurance companies. However, coverage can be plan dependent and some plans may not accept direct billing and will require manual submission. We will always try our best to assist you in the billing process. It is highly recommended to check with your insurance company prior to the appointment to ensure coverage.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Mastercard, Visa, Interac debit, Wechat Pay, AliPay, UnionPay and cash. We also offer direct billing to most major insurance companies.
  • What is the warranty on frames and lenses?
We will cover manufacturing defects on complete prescription pairs for 1 year after purchase on both the frame and lenses. For Lindberg frames only, we offer a 2 year warranty on manufacturer's defect.
  • What is your return policy?
Unfortunately, because of the personalized nature of custom opthalmic products, we are unable to offer any returns on prescription glasses, sunglasses and contact lenses. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
  • What is the Willow Guarantee?
Opthalmic products are like clothing. Sometimes you have to try them on to see if it's the right fit for you. To ensure that you will love and enjoy your new glasses, we offer a one time limited lens replacement within 30 days of pick up on complete prescription pairs. Unfortunately due to the custom nature of contact lens products, this is not applicable with contact lens orders.
